Classic
With their round, harmonious expression, the classic Hoptimists are an eternal reminder to us to be
positive and optimistic. The colors are bright and cheery, and the figures' indomitable little hop
raises people's spirits far and wide.
Feel the Joy
A smile starts with another smile and Hoptimists do something quite special. They bring smiles to people’s faces, joy and optimism.
The Hoptimist smiles at you and waits for your response. Maybe a smile back, perhaps a slight
tap to get the figure moving. The Hoptimist repays you by bouncing up and down, powered by
surplus energy. Just as you knew it would – just as it does every time.

Hoptimist First produced in 1950's Denmark, Hoptimists are part of the great Danish design family today: From Kay Bojesen’s monkey to the PH lamp. In the late 1960s, wood turner Hans Gustav Ehrenreich created the first prototypes for Birdie, Bimble and Bumble.
Soon, Ehrenreich and his Hoptimists had become too well-known for production to continue in his small workshop. The rest of the story has become part of Danish design history.
What all the family members have in common is that their design lasts. The Hoptimist was relaunched in 2009 and today the figures are hopping around again in Denmark and in the rest of the world. Newly developed designs are done in the spirit of Ehrenreich. His basic idea was to draw the Hoptimists using a circle and an ellipse, and the classic and the new generation of figures are based on this idea.
