Thumbnail Filmstrip of Hans J. Wegner J16 Rocking Chair Images
Description
Hans J. Wegner showed an early interest in the rocking chair as a design object, and J16 was one of his first chairs ever put into production. The very first version was designed in 1944. After a process to make the chair easier to manufacture, the production could start. Wegner’s J16 has proved so viable that it has been in demand ever since it first came on the market. The paper cord seat offers a comfortable seat as a plastic-free alternative to polyurethane foams. This furniture is made from solid wood that stores carbon and – if kept well – will get a beautiful patina. As needed, the surfaces can be sanded down and restored by skilled locals anywhere in the world. The wood used for this furniture is traceable to the source with oak variants being FSC®-certified. Comes in light oiled oak with natural paper cord.Specifications
